Part III Chapter 1: She’s watching
It was nightfall. Marcus and Gideon needed to rest. They were two days from his village. He was cautious to stay anywhere, now that he knew there were beasts on the loose. On the other hand, he had a pistol revolver with silver ammunition, and Gideon; his lone protector.
Marcus put down his bag, and immediately started gathering firewood. Gideon trotted off, deeper into the woods.
“Hey! Where do you think you’re going?”
The wolf looked back then continued trotting.
“BAH! Go on, then! Leave me here, alone.”
Marcus continued to gather firewood.
“I thought we were friends…” Marcus thought to himself.

Marcus was finishing his bread and soup that he had acquired from the general store; making sure he saved a bit for Gideon, if and when he were to return.
There was a rustling in the woods. Marcus sat up grabbing his new pistol revolver, holding it tightly.
Through the crackling firelight, two figures walked towards Marcus’ campsite. One figure was that of a human woman, the other, a beast.
Marcus stood up, ready to fire his revolver. His hand was slightly shaking, and sweaty.
“Kritzia,” he said, almost with relief, but still pointing the weapon toward her and her minion.
“Marcus,” Kritzia opened her arms for an embrace. “We are not here to feed.”
“Then, what do you want? Why is he here with you?”
“This is Krieger. He is my most trusted of minions. He also makes for a good form of transportation.” She replied with a wry smile.
“Marcus, come sit with me, by your fire.” Kritzia motioned.
“What about him?”
“Does he bother you, Marcus? Leave us.” She motioned to Krieger, and he trotted off into the woods.
Marcus waited until he was sure it was gone. He approached Kritzia with caution.
“You don’t need that, Marcus.” She gestured toward his weapon. “I wouldn’t dream of hurting you, my love. Sit with me.”
Marcus did as he was told, but rather sat facing her, instead of next to her. She reached for his hand. He reluctantly let her have it. She stroked it, gently, and then pulled him closer with a seductive smile. Marcus leaned in for the kiss. Kritzia moved quickly pulling him in and pinning him to the ground. Marcus didn’t know what to expect from that point on. She continued to kiss him. He got aroused, and she knew it.

Marcus awoke at dawn, looking around hoping to see Kritzia next to him, but all he found was Gideon… and friends?
