Beta Reader Policy

All works provided to beta readers are the exclusive intellectual property of Mark Bogner and are protected under U.S. and international copyright law. Unauthorized reproduction, distribution, publication, or disclosure of any portion of these materials without the author’s explicit written consent is strictly prohibited and may result in legal action. By registering as a beta reader, you acknowledge these protections and agree to abide by them.

1. Registration & Selection

  • By completing the beta reader sign-up form, you consent to receive digital copies of my unpublished works for the purpose of providing feedback.
  • Submitting the form does not guarantee selection as a beta reader. Each registrant will be carefully reviewed, and only those who meet the specified criteria will be chosen.
  • If selected, you will be notified directly and provided with digital copies of the work.

2. Expectations of Beta Readers

  • Beta readers are expected to read assigned chapters, sections, or full manuscripts in a timely manner.
  • Feedback should be submitted directly by email to me at mb2000inc[at]gmail[.com].
  • All feedback must include:
    • Chapter and page number(s) being referenced
    • List of corrections or suggested edits (spelling, grammar, clarity, etc.)
    • Additional comments, critiques, or suggestions

3. Feedback Guidelines

  • It is strongly encouraged to finish reading the full material before submitting critiques, as later context may affect earlier impressions.
  • Suggestions and critiques should be constructive, respectful, and specific.
  • All feedback will be carefully considered; however, not every suggestion will necessarily be implemented in the final version.

4. Confidentiality & Use

  • Beta readers will receive digital copies only, which are to be used solely for the purpose of critique.
  • These works remain the intellectual property of Mark Bogner and must not be shared, distributed, or published in any form.
  • All materials are protected under copyright law. Any intellectual property published, shared, or otherwise distributed without the explicit written consent of Mark Bogner is a copyright violation and subject to legal action.

5. Acknowledgment

By signing up to become a beta reader, you acknowledge that:

  • You may or may not be selected as a participant.
  • If chosen, you agree to provide honest, constructive feedback in accordance with this policy.
  • The author retains full creative control, and not all feedback will be incorporated.
